Yesterday, just before the rain, I saw this really buff guy jogging down the street. Then I remembered what Mom wrote about in her blog, and I wondered whether it could be him.
Then today, Radar was strutting by my window. Since he’s an outdoor cat, I asked him how far he’s been roaming around to see if he’s been near Mayfair and Iona. He said his Mom saw the buff guy jogging down the street last night too. She checked on line and said that it was definitely a local celebrity.
Then Radar’s Mom told Dad and Dad told my Mom. Just after supper, the doorbell rang. It was Adam from next door, soon followed by his older sister. They were selling chocolate, and Mom seemed to be excited about getting a sugar fix. Just after they had finished the transaction, Mom spilled the beans about the new buff guy in the neighbourhood and suggested to Anna that she go there to sell him some chocolate.
About an hour later, I was out for a walk with Dad, when the kids came back all excited. Here’s the story I overheard:
Anna and Adam went with their Mom to his house. They brought along Adam’s hockey stick and Anna’s hockey jersey. It took a while for the door to be answered, and when it was, all Anna could say (red-faced) was, “Are-are you … Jason Spezza?” Adam asked him to sign his stick, and he turned to go back in the house to get a marker. Adam followed him in until his Mom said, “You’re not going over for supper. Come back!” By the time Jason returned, Anna was able to ask him if he’d like to buy a chocolate bar. He did, and was really neighbourly. He signed Adam’s stick and Anna’s jersey, and gave them both signed hockey cards.
I’ve never seen Anna so excited. She was jumping up and down as if she’d eaten a pound of chocolate . I know what both of them are going to be talking about tomorrow at school!
Wait till Jason sees me in my sweater!

Hey Timbit
I heard on the radio this morning that it was the Ottawa Valley annual cat show this weekend at the Nepean Sportsplex and they are judging best in show. I suggest I pick you up and we go and see what these inferior felines are like, nothing could compare to us. Then, maybe we could go and suck back a few beer and discuss the show. Whadaya think? Give me a ring and we can set up a time.
Love Ern
